Jimmie and I live and work in Washington, DC with our new baby, J. I work in Congress, and am trying to find the balance between wife, mama and professional. AND wannabe runner. Jimmie is a straight-up country boy from Northern Idaho, that I convinced to join me on this adventure in the East. He LOVES the outdoors and working on his culinary skills.
We met in college(2008) and fell in love fast. I liked him, he liked me our relationship felt so natural. I had never experienced anything like it. He wasn't my "type," the timing was so off and the setting could not have been more cliche- but I love it. It was our junior year of college, at a bonfire in the woods. Newly single and ready to mingle I was an easy target- so flattered that the best looking boy in the crowd asked for my number. (cliche, I warned you) He called me that same night and we never stopped talking. We dated for several years, graduated and moved to different states. Reunited in Washington, DC, got engaged and married five months later, then welcomed our baby boy a year and three months after that. We were sealed for time and all eternity on February 25, 2012.
Jimmie is the best. I adore him. Pretty sure I am the luckiest girl in the world. People always say they married their best friend, but I REALLY did. We have been through so much together and have weathered the storms that life's blown our way- standing closer and stronger in the end. It is so great to see him as a dad. I love our little family and hope to document our journey through this blog.
